Welcome to the LR Karting Club.

Our mission is simple: to bring local grass roots racing back to the Lombardy Raceway Park. Fun for the whole family.

There will be a karting academy that will run through the season. The academy is going to be offered at two levels:

1. Our beginners level will help drivers get the basics. They will be taught everything from safety on and off the track, to fun exercises that will bring out the best racer in all drivers.

2. An advanced level where experienced drivers get to hone their skills and unlock those speed secrets hidden within. We will also provide basic training on maintaining and tuning your karts and engines.

Ché Smith brought a very passionate group of people together to make this happen. He also runs a successful 12 driver kart racing team, Nonstop Racing. This team will play a large part of helping new drivers get into karting with proven track records at many levels.

Ché often refers his team and karting friends as his second family, and this will be the foundation of this new and exciting karting club. Family fun, grass roots racing has been proven to provide long lasting friendships and amazing memories. It will be great to see this return to this track.

Club membership – details to follow shortly.
Rules and Regs – will follow the new sanctioning body when announced.
Kart license – we will update as and when the new sanctioning body is announced.

For those new to karting or returning, ASN used to be the sanctioning body for Karting in Canada. The ASN resigned with the FIA at the end of 2019 and a new sanctioning body to replace the ASN is still under selection.

Academy- registration, dates and costs will be available later this week.

Classes,
Briggs and Stratton – Novice, Junior, Senior, Masters.

2-Stroke – Shifter karts are on the rise and we have had half a dozen enquires already for a class, so we will be looking to promote that if that interest continues.

Box stock – We know that there was a box stock series that ran at the track. We have had some interest in bringing that back. We want to hear from you guys.

Race schedule – We will propose a schedule for 2020 however it will be subject to change with all that is gong on right now with COVID-19.

It’s understood that this will be an odd season that’s full of unknowns at this point with the global COVID-19 situation as it is today, on March 18th. We will be here and ready to put on a great affordable race series and academy to all once we are safe to resume a normal life again.

We hope this new club and indeed this announcement provides something to look forward to for all of our racers.

Please join, follow and share this page with your fellow racers, friends and family. We will post some fun content and racing tips here to help get us through the lockdown and prepare for the upcoming season.

Feel free to message us for more information. In the meantime, stay healthy and happy and let’s hope the countdown to the race season starts soon.

From all at the LR Karting Club

Thank you and welcome.
